GENERAL CHECK-IN CONDITIONS
AIR FRANCE CHECK-IN
- You can check-in for your flight from 30 hours before take-off,
- Check-in is required to confirm your seat on board and obtain your boarding pass,
- Should you need to check-in any luggage, you must do so at specially designated baggage drop-off desks at the airport,
Check-in desk open 1 hour before the flight and close 30 minutes before departure ; be on time and respect the deadlines
VOLOTEA CHECK-IN
You can check-in free of charge from the Check-in online section on the Volotea website or via the airline’s mobile app. You can also go directly to the check-in desks at the airport, which is subject to an additional cost.
If you have selected your seat during the time of purchasing your ticket, you can immediately download and print your boarding passes. If you have not selected a seat at the time of purchase you can obtain your online boarding pass from 7 days up to 2 and a half hours before the departure of your flight.
To complete your Check-in online, go to the Check-in online section and enter your reservation confirmation number as well as at least one passenger surname or the contact e-mail address used when booking. Then select the passengers and the flights you want to check-in. You can also use a link on the confirmation page and in your booking confirmation e-mail, which will allow you to download your boarding passes.
If you have made any changes to your booking you must download and print-off your boarding passes again. If you arrive with boarding passes printed before making your changes you will be denied boarding.
You can reprint your boarding pass as many times as you wish from the Check-in online section of Volotea’s website. Please make sure to have Acrobat Reader or another PDF readable application available on your PC to be able to download.
Remember that you must print your boarding pass to present it directly at the boarding gate if you do not have any bags to check-in.
If you do not have a printer to print your boarding pass or you prefer to pick it up it at the airport, we invite you to register in the Airport Check-in option or check-in using your mobile phone at eligible airports. WHEN CAN I CHECK-IN ONLINE FOR MY FLIGHT ?
If you have purchased a seat, you can download and print your boarding passes as soon as your booking is complete. If you have not purchased a seat, you can get your boarding passes online from 7 days up until 2 and a half hours before your flight departure time.
WHY AM I NOT ABLE TO CHECK-IN ONLINE ?
Depending on the characteristics of your booking, it is possible that you will not be able to check-in online, and will have to go personally to the check-in counter in order to obtain your boarding pass. Online check-in is not permitted in these cases:
- Passengers who travel with pets or a guide dog.
- Blind passengers who have indicated that they need special assistance at the airport.
- Deaf passengers who have indicated that they need special assistance at the airport.
- Passengers who are traveling with a wheelchair who have indicated that they need special assistance at the airport.
- Passengers who are traveling with Standby tickets.
- Passengers who are transporting weapons.
If one of these cases applies to you, please go to the Volotea check-in desks at the airport in order to obtain your boarding pass.
Please also remember that if you have not selected seats and there are more than 7 days left before your flight departs, you cannot check in online. You can purchase seats at any time, or if you prefer to wait and not pay for your seats, we will randomly assign you a seat for free when there are less than 7 days remaining until your flight.
CAN I GET A BOARDING PASS ON MY MOBILE DEVICE ?
Yes. As long as you check in online using your mobile device and the airport allows it. Checking in online on your mobile device is the easiest way to avoid printing documents, saving time and avoiding lines at the check-in counter.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE AIRPORT ?
You should arrive at the airport with enough time to be able to check in your baggage, pass through the security checkpoint, and get to the boarding gate at least 35 minutes before your flight departs.
In order to be able to organize your time, bear in mind that :
• The check-in counter opens 2 hours before the departure of the flight, and closes 35 minutes beforehand except at the Venice and Majorca (Palma) airports where the check-in counter closes 45 minutes beforehand.
• If you need to check baggage, pick up your boarding pass, if you are traveling with animals or special baggage (for example, a musical instrument or sports equipment) or if you need any kind of special assistance, you should always go to the check-in desk.
• In this case, please take into consideration that you will need enough time to check in at the check-in counter (which may have a line), pass through the security checkpoint (which may have a line) and get to your boarding gate.
• If you are only traveling with carry-on baggage and have printed out your boarding pass online, you can go directly to the airport security checkpoint. Depending on the airport, you will need more or less time for going through the security checkpoint on your way to the boarding gate.
Boarding will begin 35 minutes before the departure of your flight and will end 15 minutes before your flight departure. Once the boarding gate is closed, no more passengers will be accepted on board.
HOW LONG IN ADVANCE SHOULD I GO TO BOARDING GATE ?
Make sure you arrive at the boarding gate 35 minutes before the departure time of your flight.
If you are denied boarding due to arriving late the gate, you have to make a new booking and pay a subsequent flight, provided that there is another scheduled flight and seats available.
You may check-in other passengers (up to 9 passengers) shown on your booking at the same time. To add another passenger, simply click on the button "Check-in another passenger" and enter their credentials.
